Climbing up the corporate ladder and spreading her wings

Meet Rorisang Tsotetsi, a woman boldly on the move up the corporate ladder and treasury lead at KT Wash, one of South Africa’s fastest growing FMCG companies. Rorisang has always yearned for a powerful network of people to surround herself with. Growing up she also believed in the company of people she’d learn from and strived to be better.

After furthering her education in Accountancy at the University of Johannesburg, she cut her teeth as an intern at Brikor Limited, a brick making company. Her core expertise is in treasury and creditors, two departments which she boasts that she enjoys the most. After her stint as an intern, she joined Ilangabi Investments 12 PTY (LTD), a subsidiary of Brikor Limited, where she was absorbed in the accounts department, gaining experience and competency from performing bank reconciliations, creditors and debtors’ reconciliations, procurement, and treasury duties, amongst other ad-hoc tasks.

“I was fortunate to be roped in the company’s accounts department, and though it was a bit challenging to adjust to my new title and job spec. I managed to hit the ground running and kept a level head. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for my tenacity,” she declares.

After five years of being with Ilangabi, Rorisang joined KT Wash in 2021, taking up the position of finance administrator. She moved further up the ranks when she joined the organization’s creditors department and ultimately assuming her current role. A testament to her hard work and dedication for the company.

Her long-term work goals include being more involved with other departments within the company to establish synergy and good workmanship.

“My previous experience has taught me people and perseverance skills. I interact with a lot of people, so it is important to maintain good interaction skills. Fun fact about Rorisang Tsotetsi “I enjoy cooking up a storm and trying out new restaurants, as a self-proclaimed foodie.”
